Aditi Babel’s Lakescape artwork envisions Udaipur within the delicate form of a lotus pod — an unfolding narrative of its lakes and history. This installation presents two perspectives: a closed pod, where eight emerging lotuses symbolise the city's interconnected lakes, and an open pod, capturing the graceful movement of the Gangaur boat across Lake Pichola.
Crafted from silk, reinforced with acid-free paper and boards, the work seamlessly integrates traditional techniques with handpainting and screen printing to create a layered visual experience.

"Art and design are about emotions, and rarely about trends. If you feel a connection to something, pause. If it evokes joy, it’s meant for you."
- Astha Khetan, Founder, The House of Things
To celebrate the launch of The House of Things Gallery, a group of 30+ eclectic visionaries from India and across the world created bespoke objects of design bringing alive their unique vision of ‘An Udaipur Sojourn’ as an ode to the heritage and artistry of the land. From art furniture and bespoke design objects to heritage textiles and sculptural lighting, each piece carries a story of modern luxury – whether it’s the precision of an artist’s handcraft or the brilliance of a finely-cut gemstone.
