The Vase Calyx-Krater draws inspiration from a 1st-century A.D. Roman marble vessel housed at The Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York. Originally displayed in the gardens and courtyards of Roman villas, such vessels served as decorative focal points alongside sculptures and fountains. Its relief depicts six female figures adapted from classical Greek motifs. One side features three maenads, followers of Dionysos, dancing to the rhythm of wooden clappers, while the reverse shows two draped maidens approaching a young woman playing a double flute. This reinterpretation has been handcrafted in a crisp white finish, preserving the elegance and narrative detail of the original form.
