The Vase Fayum draws inspiration from a group of Egyptian stone vessels dating to the Middle Kingdom (ca. 1887–1750 BCE) in The Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection. Originally used as cosmetic containers and discovered in a tomb at Haraga, these vessels exemplify the elegance and craftsmanship of ancient Egyptian design. Reimagined in hand-carved onyx, the Vase Fayum celebrates the beauty of natural stone, with each piece distinguished by its unique colour variations and veining.
