The Maker
Jaya Charan
Jaya Charan is an artist and illustrator based in Jaipur, working across painting, brand identity, and object design. Her work draws from nature, memory, and the everyday — flowers, old walls, the sound of a market in the morning. She paints in oils, acrylics, and watercolour ink, carrying the same hand into her digital work, and has practiced Kathak for years, a discipline that shapes how she moves through a canvas.
Jaya Charan Studio is where this sensibility lives — original paintings, brand identity, and creative direction held together by a deep regard for India's craft traditions and a belief that objects and spaces should be chosen slowly, made to last. Her collaboration with The House of Things, including The Garden Scribble Sofa and The Yule Cabinet, reflects this same instinct: art rooted in place, made with intention.
