This pair of silver-plated octagonal candlesticks are reminiscent of their identical pieces which are housed at the Mount Vernon Museum and were acquired by George Washington for the executive mansion, dated 1796. They are distinguished by neoclassical fluting along the column, beaded borders, and swag decoration on the shoulder. Made in England. May be bought as a single piece or a pair.
