Handcrafted by local artisans in Kashmir, this vase makes delicate use of papier mache. Waste paper is crushed to a paper pulp and combined with rice water to form the base mixture. This paper pulp is applied layer by layer to build upto the required form. Once the form has slowly dried over the course of a few weeks, a paint layer is added to the outer layer to finish the piece.
